Accounting Manager – Lead, Optimize, and Grow

Salary: $108,000 – $120,000 DOE

Our client, a respected organization that provides vital services to the community, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their collaborative and purpose-driven finance team. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage the general ledger and month-end close, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, a deep understanding of GAAP, and a passion for contributing to an organization that makes a positive social impact.


Key Responsibilities: Accounting Manager

  • Oversee and manage accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and cash management.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and related reporting.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and professional development.
  • Partner with leadership to analyze financial data, monitor performance, and support decision-making.
  • Assist with annual audits, budget preparation, and implementation of internal controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.


Qualifications of the role: Accounting Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (ERP experience strongly preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
