The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing the financial transactions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work with financial data, and effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal teams. The specialist plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely and accurate payment and collection processes.

Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records for both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and provide data for analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues related to financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and relevant accounting standards.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Complies and analyze financial information to prepare job billings
  • Audits Contracts, orders and all job costs to substantiate individual transactions prior to billing
  • Job Cost: Set-up new jobs, review time cards, process PO’s, process inventory pulls, review costs, bill jobs
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting practices, regulations, and technology.

Accounting Specialist Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable roles.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data processing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards
