Entry-Level Staff Accountant

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Compensation: $58,000 - $65,000 base salary

A well‑established Minnesota manufacturing company is seeking an Entry-Level Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This role provides hands‑on exposure to cost accounting, inventory processes, operational finance, and month-end close—making it ideal for early-career accountants who want to build a strong foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Support general ledger posting and maintenance
  • Assist with month-end close tasks and journal entries
  • Prepare account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and documentation
  • Review and help maintain accurate cost and inventory data
  • Support standard costing updates and cost variance analysis
  • Assist with preparation of internal financial statements
  • Help analyze production and materials variances and trends
  • Maintain organized financial files, documentation, and audit support
  • Assist with annual financial audit preparation
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and HR to ensure accurate financial information
  • Contribute to process improvements and support ERP/accounting system updates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or expected soon)
  • Internship experience in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • Solid understanding of basic GAAP concepts
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with common accounting tools
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work cross‑functionally
