Staff Accountant

A rapidly growing, nationally recognized design‑build construction organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their expanding Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to support high‑volume industrial, warehouse, and distribution construction projects while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

The finance team is growing due to significant expansion over the past five years, and you will work closely with an experienced Director of Finance who is committed to team development and ongoing process improvement.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

  • The Staff Accountant will assist with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Support project accounting activities across multiple active construction projects
  • Prepare reconciliations, schedules, and internal financial reporting
  • Collaborate with project managers and internal stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy
  • Assist with audits, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements in a rapidly scaling environment

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3+ years of general accounting experience (construction or project accounting a plus)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth setting
  • Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of construction accounting systems is a plus
